Hello everyone. My names Kevin. This is my first post here. Thinking about entering the world of Tacoma's.

Here's the situation. I can get a deal on a 2007 Tacoma TRD off road for what seems to be a pretty good price of $2000. The truck has 135k miles on it and I know its been abused pretty badly since the day it was bought new. Right now the drive shaft has a lot of play in the rear end. Im positive the rear end is shot as well as the hanger bearing. I don't have a problem replacing these things if I can find a good price on them. Some help would be appreciated if anyone knows a place to get a good rear end. Pretty sure its 3.73's with the locker.

My second question would be what should I expect to replace considering the only maintenance on the truck was regular oil changes.

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help in advance. I hope I'm posting in the right section also.

This is a company truck. It was used as a service vehicle. My company wants to get it out of the shop, thats why its so cheap.

Mehhh.. Nothing wrong with that as long as you don't mind doing the maintenance. I'm sure you could buy it for 2k and get everything fixed back up for well under what most guys are buying them for in good shape.

Parts you should expect to possibly replace..

Pretty much any of the typical wear items on the motor or front suspension. Just do a thorough inspection of everything and see what you come up with. Other than those items 135k isn't that much.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
An 07 for 2k? If it's true, I'd be all over that. Buy it.

Thats what I'm thinking. Our company buys new vehicles when the current ones reach around 130k. They sell the old ones to employees at very good prices. So in this situation the price isn't reflecting problems although there are some problems.

TINT - 20% FRONT - 5% REAR 3 INCH LIFT PAINT TO MATCH GRILL AND REAR BUMPER REMOVED ALL EMBLEMS
BUY IT ---worst case scenario you part it out later on you would get the money back in just parts alone
    frame - $500.00
    bed - $500.00
    cab - $500.00
    misc parts - $500.00

its a win win - i think - good luck

I can take some tomorrow. Body is in great shape, interior is pretty crappy, and the motor seems real strong.
