I have never owned a truck before. I have been searching for a truck for about a month. I don't need a truck, I just like trucks. I thought the tacoma would be the best fit as I don't envision doing any towing. I am looking at a 2013 Tacoma. Here are the Specs.

2013 Toyota Tacoma Black Double Cab Long bed V6 4x4
-Has LCD, no XM or Nav
    -22,900 miles

price is 34,000 total cost! I think that is high. I was hoping to get it at 28,000 sticker with about 30,000 total cost, out of the door price.

My issue is that I think its too close to brand new in price.

problem with these Tacomas is a lot are priced higher then new ones, especially if you can get your dealer at/under invoice price.

I have been looking for a few weeks and was set on getting a 1-3 year old Tacoma, they where so close to the new Tacoma price i went in and found a 2014 DCSB i like and negotiated under invoice per a purchase program and now is CHEAPER then a 2012 DCSB with similar options and 30,000

Well they are really nice trucks, that's why we are all here :p If you like the long box then go for it, but that's more for a work truck IMO. And yeah the price is a little high if you ask me, if you can go lower then I'd say go for it!

For what they want for a used one - I would buy new.

in New Jersey, its going to be more expensive than other states. But the salesman offered my 2.9 APR on the used. He said if a buy a brand new one, the apr would be higher. Is that BS?

Fun numbers (not exact but close)
    60months $30,000 loan @ 0.0%= $500/month

    60months $30,000 loan @ 2.9%= $538/month

    60months $30,000 loan @ 10% = $637/month

The thing that makes it tough to find a used one, is that they retain their value. They arent going to let go of one that cheap.

Find a used one, look up TRADE IN VALUE then add $500 and make a solid offer, if they say no just walk, if they counter and your happy then get it!
I already gave up on that and am just getting NEW unless something comes up USED that they try to sell me on when looking at a NEW one
