    Ditto.
If you need 4wd and can afford it, then go get it.

I had a brand new 21 Jeep I bought fully loaded. Kept it for 4 months and traded it in for a 21 TRD Sport Tacoma. That Jeep was my first non-truck since 1997. I missed my truck. So don't feel bad about it.

I've never heard anyone say "I wish I would have got a 2wd instead of the 4wd." but have heard plenty of people say they wish they would have gotten a 4wd. As others have said though it all depends on your needs. For many 2wd will do everything they need. For others they either know where they go means they need 4wd or that they would go more places if they had 4wd.

Sometimes it takes owning a 4WD before you realize you dont need a 4WD. :anonymous:

My 2WD gets me as far off-road as I want to go, which can be basically described as "right up to the edge before I start bashing on my daily driver." But I've owned four-by's, I know what each drivetrain is really capable of, and I know what I want and what I don't want. If you don't know, you'll always wonder. Its only a minor financial mistake in the grand scheme of things.

You could probably throw a locker in the rear and get anywhere you need to go. With that, I personally would never own a 2wd truck, so I would say go trade it, but that's me :)

If you are going to run into snow on any of those trips, get the 4x4. Rear wheel drive only in these trucks will get you nowhere in the snow.

Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Except if you listen to Scotty Kilmer, he is not a fan of 4wd!

Do it if you want. No dealer in the world will care if you took stickers off the car - even if they notice. But that's not the real issue.

Just know that the "30 day return policy" isn't like taking a sweatshirt back to Old Navy. Just go in there knowing you're going to be (a) met with some resistance and/or (really and...) (b) get bent over something uncomfortable in ways you never would see coming if you wanted to swap.

Yeah, I’m guessing vehicle swap they might not fight, but you’ll be repaying tax/title/licensing fees.

If you already regret the 2WD just get the 4WD while you still can!

Of course you will. but if you think for a second they will somehow give you "store credit" for your "return" and still make you a happy customer on another vehicle, then I need to smoke some of what's in your pipe.

The sales manager is not in the charity business. His/her angle will be to give you a fair bit of grief before even beginning to talk to you about taking the vehicle back, finding a minor flaw or two to make you sweat a bit, then agreeing to "work something out". All posturing if you're serious about doing it, but there will be an angle. Most likely, it will be something like, "fine, we'll take it back for what you paid, but here's the non-negotiable price for the one you REALLY want".

    No free lunch.

Yes, get the 4WD. If/when you ever go to sell or trade it you will be glad it's a 4WD.

Pretty much the perfect photo to accompany what I was trying to say politely. One way or another, yup. And you're lucky to get the lube.

Depends on your needs. I got a 4x2 off road and I've never needed 4x4. Living in a metropolitan area and only getting off road maybe twice a year I knew I wouldn't need 4x4. Plus the truck is my daily. Sounds like if you go and get the 4x4 you won't regret the decision.
