I just did a couple of seafoam treatments this week because this crappy gas mileage has been driving me nuts.

One time i poured 1/3 the bottle through the pcv valve, the other time through the brake booster.

Now, I was under the impression that you should only change the oil soon after seafoaming if you put it in the crankcase. However I read on some other forums that you should also change it out soon after even if you did it through the vacuum.

Is it true? I hate to think I need to drain my Royal Purple after only 1k miles.

If you didn't put seafoam in the crankcase I don't see why you'd need to change the oil?
