Been wanting new wheels for a while now, and i found a set of 16" Fuel Boost wheels for sale, pictures look good only one scratch on the lip but its not very bad. He is asking 450 for them (i wouldn't pay that but he is willing to negotiate) but it is a 2-2.5 hour drive for me and they are the +20mm version (not a big deal some spidertraxx can fix that).

I originally wanted to get 17" wheels, but i figure with these i could just throw my m/s2 with a lot of life in them and run them before i get a lift/bigger tires.

Is this a good deal or do i just want new wheels to bad that im blind to the big picture?

I got a brand new set of wheels off ebay for 660 and sold my other rims for 550. Check out ebay if you have not already...

    Just my 2 cents

Don't get 16s if you originally wanted 17s is my thoughts. There are good deals on rims all the time, don't think this will be the last.

I personally only run hub centric rims these days. I have ran others and I have had vibes from them. IMHO, there are lots of awesome hub centric rims to chose from, that is the way to go.

Why not just get a set of rings?

You could, my last set of KMC's were so close I could not use them, so make sure they will fit. I would just personally run wheels that were designed for Tacoma's, saves the headache.

I know they make rings and they're pretty cheap. The main reason I wanted to run 17s was so I could run a 275 tire, but after looking I kind of like the look of 285s with 16 inch wheels

I honestly don't remember. I do remember them being just a tad larger, so my lugs did all the centering.
