I put an electric cut-out on my truck. Its a super loud but I can redirect the exhaust to the stock muffler with the flip of a switch. Allot cheaper than most exhaust systems as well. I also had the shop reroute the Y pipe for more clearance when I had the cut out valve piping fabbed up.

Stick with a 2.25” muffler and get something like a 14” Borla Pro XS. It’s around $100 plus around $60.00 to weld it in.

If you keep an eye on Amazon you can get an open box muffler for cheaper. I paid $30.00 for a Borla on Amazon because it was an open box return.

unless you buy one that isn't too loud. some people like hearing the engine and exhaust.

Some people... you mean the owner and a few of their friends? Nobody lives in a bubble, this noise affects everyone so please keep it out of residential areas.

i dont mind the sound of the side dumped muffler delete. And honestly for a V6 its pretty gurgley and throating, only raspy past 3500. Bouncing limiter on rocks in 4LO will turn some heads though, ive been told it sounds good. My 4.0 V8 1UZ will dual straights though is a different story, your neighbors will hate you, anyone you pass will hate you, but youll have fun and thats what matters.

Don't be surprised if you pop a check engine light code. Vehicles now days are so sensitive to the back pressure a muffler has and are tuned to take that into account. I've seen codes trip many times from just removing the stock muffler. Gone are the days of putting a set of glass packs on headers to get the rumble sound desired.

Just make a recording of this on your phone and play it while you drive...And leave your exhaust alone.

As a general rule of thumb, if you can't afford to do it right, then you can't afford to fix it when you eff it up.

No, that is not what matters. Only an @sshole would subject their neighbors to dual straight pipes.

There’s a difference between good sound and not sounding god awful gut wrenching make it stop you kook terrible.

Agree with gunshot that the V6 Taco will never sound good so just keep it quiet
