thanks for the input guys, I did however sell the Z. But I more than likely won't be buying a taco. Ive seen a few 2 door wranglers in my area for about 25k. The reality is I dont need a pick up, I never haul anything. Its just me, my gf, and my pooch. I like jeeps as well and I think it'll be a good compromise that Id be happy with.

You said "I can, but should I?". It's about if you can't, then you shouldn't. Life is short.

Just playing devils advocate! Lots of tacoma owners have owned or own jeeps. Some have good things to say others not so much.

Also will say this. Once you do own a pickup, you will wonder why you waited so long to buy one, they are that great to own, especially a Tacoma

Agreed! I grew up with nothing but pickup trucks. But the taco is significantly more expensive than a used jeep. Even used tacos are selling for insane prices in California. I do prefer the taco, but not the price tag :(

From what I've seen when i was looking, TRD OR is only a little bit more than an SR5. Probably be an additional $20-25 on monthly to get exactly what you want. Major things you'd get will be the locker and A-trac.

I purchased a house in 2012. My Tacoma then was a 2011 purchased on 11/11 and house was on 4/12. Shouldn't hurt your chances of getting approved for a home loan especially if putting $15K down.

You can travel outside of CA to buy a vehicle!look around to see what’s cheapest in close states. I paid 31,790 for my SR5.

Not sure what part of CA you are but last time I was at Capital Toyota up North, they are doing $1K under invoice through the internet dept. Ask for Kiwi.

Check local mom and pop car lots. I see 4x4 2nd gens for under 15k. And I'm up by San Francisco. Hell, I bought my 04 prerunner for 8k.

This is true only if you really don't own them --in other words -- if you are making payments on "them" !
Whole different situation if your "stuff" is YOURS -- I.E. you owe nothing.

Sr5 sucks because you no longer have the manual option. Keep what you have.
