What would you do

  1. Fuck it squeeze every last penny and get the TRD OR

    32.2%
  2. Get sr5 4x4 and put rear lockers/ tires in the future

    21.6%
  3. Keep 370z and deal with it until more money is available

    46.2%

The TRDOR does bring the locker to the table. Do you NEED one? Or WANT one?

I was in your shoes 15 years ago. I bought a 4x4 DC SR5 instead of the TRDOR. Sure, there's been a few times I'd wished for the locker. But that Gen1 SR5 simply kicked ass and went places. I view a locker as something to help me get where I want to go, and will go, with a lesser chance of breaking the truck (slow and steady vs. speed and wheel spin). I went a lot of places (tough places), and never broke that old SR5.

Yeah...I got the TRDOR because I wanted a locker (and other goodies). But damn....someone should have told us back in the 70's and 80's you couldn't wheel hard and get places with FJ40's, K5 Blazers, and Broncos without lockers. What the hell were we thinking?

Great point! My only justification with the TRD OR is that the price is so close to the SR5. Whatever Vehicle id buy next I would like to keep for at least the next 10-15 years like you!. If it'll end up being just a few dollars more a month I might just shoot for the TRD OR. I always end up adding things I could've just bought right out of the factory and its always more expensive in the end :(

How do you like the manual trans? I've been driving manuals for over 8 years and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't bored of it. But they've all been sports cars. Very torq-ie, stiff, jerky cars. I've never driven a manual truck. I did try looking for one in cali but I've had a difficult time finding one, at least in socal.

I'd say buy a used Taco if you are really set on getting one unless you can slide into a new one, walk away and not even worry about the payments.

Taco's are cool, but what isn't cool is going bankrupt just to get one.

the 50/20/30 rule will help you long term. No more that 50% of your income should go to fixed bills such as rent, car payment .etc. just my .2

Funny you say that, I was just talking to my dad again about the whole thing again and he said the same thing practically verbatim Lol. I didn't expect that since he's so frugal.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Phineas, Free Wheelin Franklin, and Fat Freddy all say it’s Truggin. Fat Freddy’s Cat thinks your right.

On the other hand Bob Weir almost never enunciated the k. :D

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
For info purposes --I paid 30,575 final cost for my SR5 AC 4X4 AT V6 with Tow pkg. That's all. This does not include any taxes or license fees, because in Mo. you must go to the dept of revenue to take care of that on your own. I had no trade-in to mess up the "clarity of the deal". The price did include a dealer paper work fee of 75 bucks-- which is BS, as you would think this is the way they pay their clerical people --which I know is not true.
