I don't know what that means, as I don't see that on the paperwork.
I do see more than 7k in extras (packages and accesories) though. I thought I read you wanted no bells and whistles?

$5k of that is probably the market adjustment.

    Ok. Imho
The answer to your title question is... No, don't go full Karen on the dealer. It won't do any good. Either wait or get your deposit back and take your business elsewhere. Be patient, but persistent and you'll find the truck you want.

Yep. The sales manager is usually the one setting the price floor and driving sales tactics. Where an individual salesperson might be willing to compromise on price to land a commission, the sales manager is looking to max out profit across all sales.

The sales manager if anything will probably be more hardcore on whatever the dealership's angle is.

100% true. I learned this first hand while looking for a better deal than I could get in my area.

If you stand to save more than several k or want something hard to find, it may be worth it. But you might not be able to buy, end up on a long waiting list, or open yourself up to a dead end trip if the dealer doesn't follow through on your handshake agreement. You can't walk out of a dealership if you have to drive away with a closed deal . . . .

Holy shit. No way jose. I paid 42k for a TRD OR with everything but leather, moonroof and the JBL setup. The step below the one that has the 360 camera too. 1.2k for dealer "shipping". Maybe I just had good timing or my dealer isn't (or wasn't) marking up in Nov. '21, but it sounds like your dealer is a typical sleeze ball everyone wants to avoid and those prices are crazy high. I guess that's LA life tho... I'd hard pass on that. But no, don't even waste your time with them. Just find somewhere else. Hell, drive 3 or 4 hours if you have to.

Dude. It’s your time and money. I would totally go to the manager and then slowly gauge your level of karen. Salesperson shouldn’t make you feel like you’re harassing him. Or, go to another sales person there. Either way, you should be able to take your money and walk away if you choose not to spend anymore time at that dealership.

I shopped around for months and finally had one salesman at a dealership 200 miles away not play the typical bs games salespeople do. I got what I wanted at the time at MSRP, 2021 TRDOF SB.

I'd steer clear of any dealer that does not have the truck on site or set for delivery directly to that dealership. Sister dealers, dealer trades, etc are no guarantee, especially in the current frenzy. When I bought mine I had 6 dealerships within 30 minutes of my house, two of them "guaranteed" they could get my truck, but the dealer that had it on their lot refused to let it go. Wound up buying directly from the one who had it on their lot, a 2+ hour drive away, but no regrets as I got exactly what I wanted. Best of luck, OP... it's like the wild west out there right now!

I agree that's a good point. There is a tactful way to approach this.

Don't loose your composure over a truck. Call the salesperson as much as you wish to get an update. Id call every Wednesday , it's mid week ,they should know something. If the guy gives you attitude, remind him that you' re the guy doing the spending, so its your party so to speak. Meanwhile actively start searching for another truck at another dealership. At the end of the its only a truck. I know Tacomas are cool etc, but there are other trucks out there to consider. Not sure of your age, but as you get older ,you learn to not be so invested in things like a truck. Learn to have the mindset to walk away. Ask yourself , Do I need a truck ?, or Do I want a truck ? Its wants vs. Needs. Good luck.

Yeah, you're paying for a product, you deserve a basic level of customer service without having to feel like a nuisance.

I would talk to the sales manager. If you still are getting the run around, inform the manager you will be contacting Toyota. Managers hate it when customers complaint to Corporate.
