When you painted the chrome bumpers with rattle can bed liner, did you prep the chrome in any way or just clean and spray?

Yeah it wouldn't be good for a sub box but I sure do like it on my bumpers and sliders.

I have seen plenty of people use the Rustoleum on their wheels, bumpers, rocker panels, hoods, etc.. it looks rugged and works great. Especially if you need a touch-up, you just spray over the spot and it looks like new again.

    a lot lol
I plan on doing it on the bottom of the doors, below the door line and follow it through the bed. I can get the rustoleum stuff at walmart for like $50 and since i work there, 10% discount. so ill be going that rout. IM also in the process of replacing my engine, gonna do the engine bay also. :)

I checked 8 automotive, retail, and hardware stores in town and nobody had the rustoleum stuff. The closest place was Lowe's 50 miles away in Cheyenne, so I just got back with 4 cans haha. I forgot to mention that the hood has significant hail damage as well. Some of the hail hit hard enough that it cracked/chipped the paint in several other places on the hood. So I guess doing the whole hood would be more appropriate. If I don't like the color, I have 2 cans of color matched silver on standby.

    This should be interesting.

Washed it with soap and water. There's still bugs in it, adds texture. BTW, it is also herculiner with spray paint over the top of it to seal it and keep it from fading. It's been on there for a year or so without any flaking or anything. The spray can stuff is too soft for "permanent" applications like body panels. My buddy used raptor liner spray on (not in a can, like mix it and shoot it kind of stuff) and it turned out to be really durable.

Not if you paint it right after you apply it. Then you don't have to mask it off again anyway.

Mine washes clean with just a bird bath from the garden hose. The trick is to paint over the top of it and it's as slick as greased owl shit, mud slides right off.
My best advice is to stir the shit out of it so you don't get clumps and put your first coat on really light then go drink a beer and let it set. Then the heavy layer will have something to stick to and will last for 50 more hail storms. Also if you get it on bare skin it will stay there for about a week, it's some nasty stuff.

I have herculiner on my rocker panels and my cap and it has held up very well. No chips or anything. I say go for it.
