Should I keep all of my OEM take-offs?

I've had my truck for over a year now and I have had an absolute blast modding and installing upgrades and lurking these stupid-ass forums for ideas and tips and all of that.

Now I'm left with all of these OEM parts sitting in my garage.
Is it a good idea to hang onto all of this stuff or should I sell it all and use that money to buy more crap?

I kept most of them. Small pieces. Like knobs, shift knob, old tweeters, mud flaps. Except big items like my front valance or old wheels and stock tires. But then again, my garage is mostly empty, so I don't mind.

Why do you guys hang onto it? I don't think I'll ever want to go back to stock but I've heard people do that when selling their truck. Does that make resale easier?

Depends. You usually get more money from parting out the mods on their own.

I kept mine as a backup in case I needed it but at this point I can’t really use the OEM stuff anymore.

I like to trade in often so I always hold onto stock. It’s one of the first questions I get asked by dealers...do I have the original wheels, original head unit, sail panels, etc.

It’s always nice to make a couple of bucks afterwards selling the old mods to put towards new ones.

Just taking up room. You'll never put them back on, so sell the F***ers.

Edit: not that I've done much modding. But I did order the Walmart grill.

depending on what sort of parts they are, it’s way easier to sell a stock form vehicle down the road. Even if you don’t plan to ever sell your truck I’d still keep just in case. Small things like door badges or mudflaps, nah I’d get rid of. Stuff like stock bumpers and whatnot, I’d try to hold onto.

I kept mine, incase I decide to trade it in, figured I can put it back to stock then sell my "upgrades" or put them on my "new" truck when I get it

I keep mine incase the aftermarket part fails. If my radio craps out, I can just swap out the OEM one. My grill breaks or I need to bring it in for some sensor work, swap the pro grill for the OEM.
Even my stock suspension im keeping. When it comes time to have my fox shocks rebuilt, I will have the OEM stuff to drive on till it comes back.

I would say it depends on your long-term plans.
I kept all the OEM stuff I took off my 2nd Gen, then re-installed it all when I sold it. Mods lower the value to a perspective buyer who doesn't know anything about mods. Even a dealership I was talking to didn't understand that the Leer tonneau was a removable aftermarket piece.
I plan on this being a 10+ year truck, so anything I take off is gonna be sold.

If you got the room and think you might put them back on, keep it.

Like others have said, I’m keeping mine (except for the OEM wheels) in case I sell/trade it in ... return it to stock and either transfer mods to new truck or sell independently.

I would keep the OEM parts, and put the truck back to stock once you are going to sell it or trade. Very few people pay extra for the mods, you can sell the upgraded parts after you sell the truck. That strategy has worked for me on the past two tacomas

I would definitely keep them in case you sell your Tacoma. Believe it of not some Tacoma enthusiasts like stock Tacomas either because they like to choose their mods or like Tacomas as Toyota built them.
