I used my Tacoma as a DD till 302k miles when the head gasket blew and I gave it to my son (I got brand new Mazda5). After HG job he used it as DD till he moved to Poland leaving the truck behind. I bought it back for 5k and used it for hauling stuff from Home Depot or such. 4 years later I traded Mazda5 for my wife's Nissan Versa Note and grabbed her 5th gen 4Runner. It was really hard choice for me what to drive to work, 1st gen Tacoma or 5th gen 4Runner, so I used both :).

Now both trucks are in Poland with me, and Tacoma is still my DD (but no work commute) and 4Runner is for longer trips. I use Tacoma for city driving because these chrome bumpers and very high sides are much better protection from stupid or careless drivers than plastic bumper covers and running boards in 4Runrer.

yah, i drive it almost everywhere i can fit it... doesn't clear the parking structures at the local mall, so i end up taking my wife's car or parking out on the street a couple blocks away and walk from there...
