If I do will it worsen my gas mileage if I keep the same tires on it?
It came with some pretty nice tires, and they are a bit knobby.
What kind of lift should I get for about a 3" lift?
What kind of price would be fair?
Will a 3" lift cause any reliability issues?

It's a four banger manual transmission.

If never done a lift on any of my vehicles before so I'm a noob to the subject. Although I do understand sag ratios and whatnot because I downhill mountain bike.
    :)

Thanks in advance for any input!

You can spend from a few hundred $$$ to a few thousand $$$$ on a 3" lift. You pay for the quality.

I would say it could effect reliability long term cause it does wear out components a tad faster.

2.5-3" requires UCAs. Which adds a lot of $$$

Gas mileage will worsen due to increased drag.

Don't even look at spacers and blocks.

Question is why do you want to lift? For looks? Cause everyone else and soccer mom drives a lifted truck? Or for increased clearance and off road capability...

Why you want a lift is a good question, but not to determine if you should lift or not, to determine how much youre going to spend if you do it.

If you want to lift it for looks, go for it, its your truck. Its why i lifted mine, but i didnt go for icons or kings on a pavement queen prerunner. I went cheap blocks and spacers then those came out after a week for bilsteins,ome,deaver.. much better ride.

Im at 3 inches with stock UCAs.

Clearance, I drive on some pretty ridiculous place to hunt and shoot.
Would be nice to not worry as much about scraping the bottom of my truck.

Cool, as someone else mentioned, I would recommend a 5100/coil setup or OME, both are good middle of the line type lifts that won't break the bank and are way better than a spacer/block lift.

    1-2k

Whatever would allow me to keep the least amount of wear on parts.

    Here's a tread I started when I was looking for a lift.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/lift-options-seeking-opinions-and-options.461274/

The ToyTec might be a good option for the $$'s or OME

I ended up purchasing components from several differnt shops on BF to save some $$

I went with LR UCA's with ICON 2.5 Coilovers up front and Dakar LP with FOX 2.0's in the rear. I spent about $2,700 for everything. Once I get it installed it should be pretty awesome!

Bilstien lift from toytec would be a good coilover suspension lift for the money!

You can easily get a nice lift for 1-2k, does that include labor or are you doing it yourself? Do you have your bed loaded or tow often?

Send @HeadStrong Off-Road a message with the details and Marie can quote you a nice kit that will get you exactly what you need/want.

My guess would be bilstein 5100 with ome 887 up front assembled, LR UCAs, lean spacer up front. 5100 with dakars on the rear since if you hunt im assuming your bed is sometimes loaded, deaver single aal if not.

I personally think the stock wheel and tire size can look pretty good with a 2-3" lift but a lot of people say otherwise, so you could save some money and keep your current wheels and tires and go with a decent but cheap 5100 setup in the mean time. Something else to think about since you have the 4 cylinder, if you did go with bigger tires it might be more of an issue as far as losing more of the trucks original get up and go. Plus it usually requires trimming.

Go with billistein adjustable and some spacers on your wheels/tires and set at 2.5", wheelers 1.5 progressive add a leaf and you should be able to get away with no aftermarket uca and be close to 1k. You will prob lose about 2-3 mpg.

You could buy a 16 or 17 take off and get an inch.
