The paint on my avid bar is starting to chip. Im thinking of painting it gray. Maybe a dark grey like my TRD banner or a Light grey Like the skid plate. What do you guys think? Big mistake? Stay Black?

I would keep it black unless you plan to change all the other accents to grey. A dark graphite would be cool if you changed it all too.

You know what...I tried the grey on black tacoma thing...HATED it...I was gonna black out the truck and have some grey accents (avid bar/badges) soon as I put the avid bar on, I hated it...painted it with MGM color match paint...paint turned out awesome...but on the truck it just looked like it was only primered lol

Dark graphite could be good. I would just like the bar to stand out more.

Funny you ask...I was thinking the same thing on my black '12. I took my avid bar off to repaint it (black was chipping) and I too was thinking about possibly painting it a dark grey, more of a gunmetal color

Just a thought.... How about rhino line it in black? keep it black and stop the chipping. Kill two birds with one stone
