I've been modding my truck since day 2 of getting it (used about a month ago) and I ordered a Westin bull bar after seeing a red Taco with one. It looks damn sharp but people are telling me it might look too macho.. As in tough guy-ish.

Question for everyone who cares to offer their 2.83cents is should I put on the Bull bar? And, is it macho overload or just the right amount of tough guy?

This truck is a daily driver for me in a big city. Thanks for your help and look forward to the replies.

No. My opinion, of course. But you asked for it.

Has nothing to do with macho for me. Has everything to do with function, or lack of.

    Good luck. Thanks for asking.

    Welcome to TW.
You understand a bull bar won't protect your truck from damage right?
However, they can be handy if you want a place to mount additional lights.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the looks of them. But it's your truck - it's what *you* like that's important.

    Welcome to TW! I'm Zeke!

I love the way bull bars look on our trucks. Personally I only prefer the black ones, but that's probably because my truck is black haha

like bjmoose it won't protect your truck from anything real (like could I think of an extreme example but in reality no), but it sure as hell looks cool.

If you are more worried about protection, a grille guard might be more of what you want.

Had one on my 2010 and I slid on an ice patch and probably was going about 7MPH when I hit a parked cars rear bumper. Completely collapsed crushing my bumper, which damaged the grill and hood. Headlights, radiator. Great place to put some lights, but otherwise complete garbage.

Get a completely new after market bumper or forget it.

Bull bars are super bad imo, but you should do what you want, its your truck

Thanks everyone! I have decided to return the bull bar. I had purchased the mod about 2 weeks ago and considered installing it but was hesitant. You all cleared it up - I appreciate the help!

Regrettably, it actually did happen the day before. I unexpectedly came upon the perfect parking spot (clearly the holy grail anywhere near this joint) in the busiest location and a shopping cart in the way. The dude in the GMC Yukon was impressed.
