I’m thinking of getting my Gen 3 off road 4x4 re geared. All the research I’ve done shows for tire sizes 31(stock) to 33” one should re gear to 488 from the stock 391. Every thing I see or read shows Tacoma owners who have done this are very positive about the performance.... it’s about $3000 bucks and I don’t want to compromise reliability or create any other unforeseen problems....does anyone have some background in this or can share some knowledge about the subject?

Welcome to TW! Do you plan on getting larger tires or adding front/rear lockers?

    Like, so many.
I've got 33s and armor and haven't needed to regear, FWIW.
