Now that you know, you can cram 31s on your truck and THEN do drop spindles

But you're right regearing is my plan! Gunna go with 4.30 though just because that way my speedo will read perfect and I won't need to change that speedo gear

Gonna be a lot of bashing on the fender wall. Will jump some fiberglass fenders if they pop up. 4.30s would be nice, wont be too overgeared on 31s tho? Sounds like fun tho, know u been getting nitty gritty with ur truck lately

    That's that low life bro!

If I stick with 31s then 4.30s will be better offroad for me compared to 4.10s. Since I hate driving fast on the highway I won't notice any over gearing drawbacks. Doing the math I'll still be able to drive 60-65 in 5th and only be around 2500rpms. Thank you for noticing my nitty grittyness lol I'm trying REAL hard to have this be new to me

This. Gearing and tire size are parts of the final drive ratio so if you change tire size you change ratios. On top of that the drive ratio is not necessarily optimized for your needs to begin with and while regearing won’t magically give you more power it will give the engine more leverage. The trade off is you wind it out quicker and have to shift each gear at a lower speed than before.

Usually regearing coincides with increased tire size. Generally only negative is mileage due to bigger tires / surface area.

I went from 4:30's to 4:88's and the difference was minimal on pavement. Slightly quicker accelerating onto the freeway, slightly worse MPG. 4:10 to 4:56 is even less of a jump. If you stumbled upon a screamin' deal on a set of complete 4:56 3rd members, AND you enjoy wrenching, that would kinda be worth trying. If not, you're better off staying with the stock ratio or holding out for 4:88's.
