Yep. I go to the low end of the torque range and use common sense.

I have been torquing fasteners and sparkplugs for a really long time, even on shitty castings, and have yet to do more damage than booger up the hex on a cap screw.

A little dab will do you, esp for a bad as they felt.

Also, the plugs in the Taco are a long reach type with an extra long threaded section.

No need to buy the Service Manual. Just search my posts for the shared links.

That free version has been passed around like a . . .

I have a base 2017 Tacoma Double Cab 4x4. Mods are as follow: FN 5 star wheels, 17x275x70 BFG's, Stage 2 Bilstein 6112 suspension kit with medium old man EMU medium leaf springs, sos concepts low profile front bumper, 9500 winch, sos concept rock sliders.
Thanks @JasonLee and @El Latigo for the recommendation of the ohm meter. I had no idea what the coil pack did until your posted your recommendations. Many times I am disconnecting bolts and replacing parts without actually knowing what the part does or how it works. This is especially true when it comes to electrical items :) Thanks to your help I learned something today :). Much appreciated all!!!

This is the problem with recommended services. They allow you to have no clue what a part does. As long as you replace it at the recommended time is doesn’t matter :). Or at least it allows you to not have to ask waht does that item actually do :).

They don't "allow" you to not have a clue. It's on you to learn and expand your knowledge. It's just the bare minimum, whether or not you learn why is a whole 'nother conversation.

I cross threaded a sparkplug on my Silverado when I was like 18. I ran her up tight and never touched it again. A valuable lesson was learned that day.

They are discolored due to the oil blowby which was allowing to rush past the loose spark plugs. Clean them up if you can/ want to and move on with life. Some carb cleaner inside the boots to ensure you wash out any oil residual and along the outside of them followed by a rag wipe down should be plenty.

I started a lug nut with a cross wrench just after my dad said not to. Got smart quick after a good laugh and a new stud.

Beating out studs is oddly satisfying
