Even if you decide to let it go I would think you are in a good position to buy out your lease and make a few bucks given how the used market has gone the last few years? Good luck!

Actually there is. You wouldn't put an F1 engine in a dump truck. That would be a pretty blonde thing to do.

I bought the VFTuner software and loaded the tune file myself.

I don't think any dealers are tuning. You will need an aftermarket tuner like kdmaxtuning.com to help. They have trained tuners all around the country. I paid $400 and it was worth every penny. @PapaRee or @TWTaco can help.

Wasn't referring to a Toy dealer. The KDMax website shows a certified tuner near me. Thanks for the cost info, sounds like the fix I'm looking for.

They will fix you up till you are happy. I went with normal tune which is a little quick on the throttle. Lite tune has the same shift points but is a little less agressive. Good luck.

lol except the torque from the 3.5 is more than the 4.0 by a few lb ft. Different rpm, same torque so nothing changes.

Shop around and find what you like. I took a 900-mile trip last December with a friend in his diesel Colorado. It was a nice ride and got pretty amazing MPGs. Having said that, my 2022 Tacoma is way way better than my 2018 Tacoma was regarding power, shift points, and interior sound levels.

If the Tacoma doesn't meet your expectations, why not try something else?
