If GM keeps the 2.7L turbo 4 cylinder torque above 400 lb-ft in the new 2023 Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon, that will redefine the mid-size truck market (….and if it is not a reliability POS)

KDMax Pro is a reasonable fix for me. The other option is unreasonable (to me).

If you need 3/4 ton or 1 ton payload the 6.0 (2011-2019) Chevy 2500/3500 is the way to go.

But for a 1/2 ton, cmon man, Tundra!

I tried the manual. Still missed the torque curve and drivability of a truck engine. Did help a lot though. The Tacoma was still discontinued after 2015 for me, personally. Obviously won’t be the case for everyone, no one get butt hurt haha.

I did see a 2nd gen Tundra towing a skid steer yesterday, the truck was lifted and wasn't squatting, and just by looking at it going the other direction on the highway, it seemed to be doing alright. I think the Tundra was probably over it's maximum tow weight, and I have no idea the weight of that particular skid steer.

Payload for any generation Tundra is pretty dismal if used as a full time work truck hauling or towing. Something like 1,600 lbs, ish.

I wish they made a Tundra HD with a payload around 3,500 +/-. If it were a 2016-2017 model I’d buy two tomorrow.

Tune on a leased vehicle? Seems like you’re throwing your money away…

Does the OP need a truck? If not, could always get a Lexus GX 460.

You think he should go from one vehicle with a minivan/SUV engine to another vehicle with a minivan/SUV engine? Poor solution, bud.

Sandals might help with pedal feel though. Good call.

The engine and tranny are good parts, Toyota just slashed performance in the stock tune to get every bit of fuel economy they could out it. Most of the tunes people have got for the 3.5 seem to have good results, haven't seen a lot of people complain afterwards.
