When I bought my 2019, I was pretty sure the Pro grill was going to be one of the first mods. Decided to dip the bezel as a temporary change, but have enjoyed the look. I may not go Pro after all.

I’d probably keep the original grill. I swapped my 2017 OR grill for a Pro one but mostly because of the chrome color. Doubt I would’ve swapped it if it wasn’t chrome.

I bought an original Pro grille from the dealer for my '19 Sport and never looked back.

The stock waffle is not as good looking as the Pro. I gave the old (brand new) grille to a kid at the car wash and he was stoked to put it on his '16.

I did the same and love it. Where i live, almost every taco has trd pro grille.

I might paint the whole grille matte black in the spring, too shiny in the sun sometimes for my liking.

No idea who worked at Toyota, designed the 2017 Tacoma and said, “now that’s a sexy looking grill!”

Did you guys that changed the bezel to black do it yourselves? The You Tube vids on this swap out aren't that good, but it looks pretty basic-- ?

I've seen people use plasti dip which is pretty easy to use. Taking the grill out isn't as hard as it looks tbh

Its not hard to remove the grill, there are 2 screws on top and 2 at bottom. Then you dissasemble the actual grille and bezel, its a bunch of screws and clips. You will break a few, no biggie. I broke 2.

I derped mine and it looks great. If surface is cleaned properly and 7-8 thin coats are applied, it works great.

I had my bumpers and grille derped on my ranger and was great for few years.

Nice, I was thinking about dipping my fender flares but I'd rather actually pay the price for the OEM set so its legit

I have the regular color-matched fender flares on my trd sport and the flares are hard to put back on which kinda sucks

Yes, i prefer the matte black flares myself. Loved the flares on my ranger, didnt care when going off road.

Might buy the proper OR flares one day

I did. It’s kind of a pain to gets the clips to start popping on the chrome part, but once you figure it out it’s not bad. I think I broke a few but I don’t plan on ever needing it again so no big deal. Watch some of the pro grill install vids. It’s basically the same process, you’re just not taking the entire center part of the grill out.

I bought the black border bezel, the Toyota OEM part from the dealership parts department. Now I'm hearing that if the grill radar is unplugged while installing this part (which it needs to be, apparently), it needs to be re-calibrated when plugged back in. Not cheap.

This I got from the Toyota service department. Sounds dubious. I thought maintaining the same grill alignment was the only thing to be careful about regarding the radar when reinstalling the main grill...

Nice. Do you have a shot of behind-the-grill lights at night?

How much did the dealer charge you? Did you also get the garnish?
