Should I tell them: not a TRD Sport?

I'm going to swing by tomorrow and take photos if the lot is not closed, just to verify if the listing included the images by mistake.

In my recent months of hunting down a nice TRD OR, I came across a couple trucks advertised as TRD Pro (or OR) that were not actual Pro's or OR's. I started using the Toyota app or web page to verify what model and options were factory (or dealer) installed according to the vin.

Although I wanted to contact the dealers selling something under the guise of a better option package, I just think it's a waste of time. An informed consumer can figure it out pretty easily.

My bad. Forgot about all the boost it adds and fuel it saves.

this stuff happens all the time with used stuff. I bought a 2nd gen a while back that was advertised as a TRD Pro and priced accordingly. It had a vinyl tailgate badge that said TRDPro in the lower right corner, but otherwise it was very obviously a TRD Sport 4x4. When I went to look at it I told the sales guy that it was a TRD Sport and not a Pro, he seemed oblivious to the differences and didn't care one way or another so long as he could sell me a truck. After I told him I would pay $XXXX for it and he countered after consulting with a sales manager or someone, we came to a very fair deal for what it was. I genuinely think he was unaware of the advert and just knew what it was priced at and wanted to make some $. I would assume someone knew along the line but it seems common enough that maybe there is a lookup thing that defaults or classfies some trucks as TRD and oters as SR5 and ignorance bridges the gap? Who knows.

Did a search with a 200 mile radius and found several wrong ads for a TRD Pro listed. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for...teBanner=false&sortBy=relevance&numRecords=25

Meh. The used car business is notorious for spiking the oil with a quart of high viscosity just so it can last the test drive without knocking; are you really surprised by a sticker slap?

Maybe it's just a local thing, but Facebook market place is the most ratchety/trashy thing i've ever browsed on

When I was shopping for my truck, I came across an ad for an SR5 that they rated as a "great deal" on CarGurus. I gave it a look and realized that it had push button start, and on further inspection, I could see the knob on the ceiling for the crawl control. I guess the PO just took the stickers off on the back and the dealership (Jaguar/Land Rover) didn't know the difference. So what was a great deal for an SR5 was a RIDICULOUSLY great deal for an OR. I saw the ad when I was in bed, sent an inquiry. I heard back from them the next day and set up an appointment, but the truck was gone in the first hour. I'm guessing both the PO and dealership got robbed on that deal, but when you've got Jaguar money, you don't give a fuck about a few thousand here and there.

Hey Knute ya know what, you sound like just another "snake oil" salesman trying to make a buck from unsuspecting honest people trying to buy a pickup truck with those words. Are you that used car salesman that Taco2021LB mentioned ?

Excellent point Taco2021LB. I'd bet both these guys are in the "used sales" in one form or another.

semoak, you sound just like Knute.

You’re a clown, point is if he’s not buying it who gives a shit. People should do their homework and they would realize it’s not a sport. It’s a mistake because when the vin is run it doesn’t always identify the trim and a used car lot or another new car manufacturer isn’t going to be aware of every trim of other manufacturers... you’re a dumbass
