Been eye balling this truck and its gone from 29k to 28k and now they told me its for sale at 26k . Cosmetically its got scrapes from brush/plants from off roading all along the side. Do you think its worth what they are asking considering its a dealership? Also the rear diff lock doesnt work like normal

Um, why is there a "TRD Sport" decal on the drivers' side and a "TRD Off Road" decal on the passenger side?

What do you mean that the rear diff doesn't work like normal? What's wrong with it? Just with the diff not working normally tells me that I am sure that the truck was worked hard. I would be running in the opposite direction if I were you.

Because its got scracthes from offroading all along the sides and in that back area it looks like the previous off road sticker had been scratched. You can tell the previous owne spent more time with it off road than on road. It drives pretty f'ing awesome though

I mean I push the button and the Rear Diff blinks red . Apparently its a common problem for people who dont engage it quite often . The common fix is taking of the motor , manually locking it and unlocking it after its all put back together.

I wouldn't trade in, the fact the stickers are mis matched, looks like the only thing they cleaned under the hood was the engine cover missing mud flaps and the locker doesn't work. A new motor for the e locker is like $500 or around there. If they are not fixing something it's for a reason. I wonder if it was in a wreak? Hints the two different stickers? Idk

    Thanks,

    Brett

If the previous owner cared enough to get another TRD decal but not the correct one, I would question how much he cared about the stuff you can't see.

Have you had a third party mechanic you trust take a look at it? CARFAX?

X2! Or just don't do it, you shouldn't have to buy something that new that you have to fix right out of the box.

    Thanks,

    Brett

If the original owner got the wrong sticker, it makes me wonder what other things they were lazy about when it comes to that truck. Also with the rear diff not locking that makes me think if they never used it enough(even what the manual states), that's not right. If the dealership is going to sell you a broken truck then I wouldn't buy it. Not paying for something that you're not getting. You're asking for trouble if you buy it. If you do buy it then if shit goes down then the only person you have to blame is you.

Carfax is going to happen , the dealership is also going to through in a "complimentary" 100k warranty so if it covers powertrain I think it might be a decent deal . What if I get the dealership to cover it , would it be an ok deal then? Its a Mazda lot so they "dont know " to much about the truck

if I cant take it to a certified mechanic , ive got a 3 day/ 300 mile return period too

If the dealership isn't 100% ok with you taking it to your own guy before agreeing to anything don't waste your time.

What is it about your '08 OR that you don't like? Just wondering.
