Little creepy you're scoping when I joined. I've had the taco since it was new and been reading posts for over a year. Chose m lift from here even... After basic trails for a while on stock. Just got a hair up the ass this week after seeing one and actually riding in it. Made me rethink it. Kinda like the plan of staying single until you see that hottie across the room!

Although keeping both ain't a bad idea....

Well some of these opinions on the Raptor are simply untrue. The truck is not a typical F150 with just a different suspension or whatever. And besides the typical F150 is a great truck. So what a 800 horsepwer diesel with a tune can beat it in a straight line on the street. Was the Raptor in that race a 6.2? Cause that is the only Raptor worth talking about here. The SVT Raptor with the 6.2L kicks any stock trucks ass in capability. I feel it's the most capable truck out right now. Second being the Dodge Powerwagon. Sorry that is just my opinion. Also what other factory has their truck launching 6 feet in the air right on the cover of the brochure? None. I love my completely stock no frills Tacoma but Yes I would take the Raptor over it any other truck besides the Powerwagon. Unfortunately it's (both are) priced out of my reach. The only thing I would change on the Raptor is I prefer manual transmissions. I'm sure there is a shop somewhere that could drop one in? If I had the money to buy a Raptor the price of a manual trans conversion wouldn't matter. Here are some links to some pretty cool you tube vids. If you have the money, get the Raptor, enjoy your factory warrantied "rally truck":p and never look back. Of course, other opinions may vary.

If you think the cheerleaders lead it and there is less in a band geek, you haven't experienced life yet...

Oz. Nothing is bullet proof. It's not across the board from what I can see but a good point too.

Haven't even looked into but I'm sure it's an isolated problem or we all would have heard about it by now. Ford stands behind their products like Toyota does and it's got a factory warranty so...what I'm saying is this news would not detract me from getting one. Your opinion may vary.

it's always fun to read people telling other people to "LT the taco" when they really have no idea the amount of time, work and money that goes into building a long travel truck.

the frame issue with the raptors is not a big deal. SDHQ offers bolt on frame hole gussets and bump stop relocators and strike pads... cost ya less than $200 to resolve the issue.

should it be an issue. no. ford should had figured that out, but there has never been a flawless vehicle in history and there never will be...

i would have traded in my tacoma for a raptor a long time ago if i felt like having payments again and paying higher insurance...

but dont think you wont want to spend money on the raptor... there is way too much cool aftermarket stuff out there :D

travel numbers only mean so much...

shock valving is the key. the raptor has internal bypass shocks all 4 corners... you think your truck lands smooth... i gets better

Like I said I haven't looked into it. Also consider the way Ford markets that thing with the launch pic on the brochure, some of the blame might be on the owners going a little overboard with the skinny peddle.
