Exactly. This truck was built for the 90% of people who will be more than happy with the trips they get off road in their Raptor. It (nor any other off the lot truck) will stand up the abuse and beating some of these Interwebz badasses dish out on their truck. That is why there is an aftermarket... so people can replace their pathetic steel frame with the strongest titanium/kryptonite/carbon fiber parts so it is stronger than steel, tougher than Superman, and lighter than both.

what do you want you truck to do? thats the question.

the raptor is a full size truck. harder to wheel tight trails. parking it sucks unless you like door dings. that 6.2 means worse mpg cause i couldn't stop smashing the go petal. no manual tranny. (if you care). ugly as hell. other than that it's a good truck for a ford.

i would keep the tacoma. here is my reasoning why.... when the new tundras came out, i had the biggest woody for one, so when i traded my '06 tacoma for it, i quickly found out that driving that big of a truck that is lifted and has big tires, is kind of a pain in the ass.... i loved the truck, dont get me wrong, but i didnt use it for what it was made for, it was WAY bigger than i needed, and the monthy payment plus added fuel fill-ups didnt make it better.... i ended up selling it a year later and buying another tacoma, an '07. i say keep the tacoma, and let the raptor be eye candy.

yeah... ford is telling people with bent frames to kick rocks...

also, some people were having problems blowing seals in their shocks and ford told them to talk to fox and fox said talk to ford...

blown seals go with the territory, can't warranty something like that... but people are under the impression that fox shocks are indestructable and ford should warrnty them.

Ever see a rusted frame thread here? Before I bought my Tacoma I read a LOT of threads about people swearing off Tacomas and Toyota because their frames were rusting right out from under the truck. Guess I should go sell my piece of shit Tacoma.

I don't disagree but I think that this is better suited for what I would use it for. It is far superior to my current truck.

Well Indiana is full of desert so I'll be doing more sand dunes, trail riding on log roads. Maybe some baby jumps. Towing is not in my game now. Throwing a 4 wheeler in back once in a while. The luxury component is a plus too. Let's be honest, the taco lacks the interior options, no matter how much modding you do. Size is a bit of an issue as made above. I've gOT to do some more test time before I jump on board the raptor. But simply put, no mall crawling but no Moab either.

Jump at the Raptor then if you want that capability. If you were just doing log road trail riding I would suggest the Power Wagon but there is no way you would get away with jumping a power wagon without having problems.

Have you contacted them on this idea? I'm sure they would value the opinion of someone who doesn't buy their product.

And Toyota should have a fully boxed frame on all of their trucks, do decent rust prevention, build better manual transmissions. Hell Toyota should recall all Tacomas IMO and fix these things. It ain't a perfect world. Does Toyota even offer a warranty for Rust and the clutch problems?

Do you currently own a Ford? As of right now, is there a Ford in your name? If so, then you are considered a customer of Ford. If not, shut your mouth.
