That textured portion would be better if it was smooth. The 21+ F-150s have a softer material on the dash above the gauge cluster and dash, it's leather on trucks that have leather seats. I don't like it. It's not terrible, but I can't imagine it will hold up with the amount of UV light that hits the dash. 23 Super Duties look like they will be the same.

    A few.
The stop/start feature can be turned off with a button on the dash but resets everytime the engine is turned off. The new Tundra has that feature also. There are some after market products out there that are supposed to disable it.

With cylinder deactivation there is no button for that. You would have buy and aftermarket programmer ($400 and up) to disable that. I noticed Chevy is now putting that feature on the new 2.7 4 cylinder turbo used in the Silverado and going in the 2023 Colorado.
If u think running on 4 cylinders is bad, imagine running on only 2 cylinders.

I'd buy a small utility trailer for your dirtbikes, your other two reasons (sound and reliability) are just silly.

The 5.3 and 6.2 can supposedly run on one.

The last I had heard no one had been able to crack the ECUs on the new GMs but that was a while ago.

Why would GM put that feature on the 4cyl?

That's the reason they made the 4cyl.

5.3's burn oil, go with 6.2. I was in this same mind frame myself, but decided I didn't need another payment since mine is paid off.

GM’s don’t hold value. So if you like to buy trucks and then get rid of them after two or three years, you will get hosed. Be aware it’s huge. I bought a Tacoma because full-size pick ups are too big for around here.

There is a 2500 sitting in my yard, only has 120K but somehow the piston rings ended up on top of the piston.

Garage space was a driving concern for me. Taco fit in this stupidly short Florida garage. Full size truck would have been relegated to driveway ‍♂️

Looks like the 23 5.3 and 2.7 are not available with cylinder deactivation. I can't confirm if thats true or not.

Would have to look at the window stickers. Ford has been showing a -$50.00 for the stop start delete on F 150s since the chip shortage.
But going buy the Hemi engines, internals have to be changed to get rid of the feature.

Yes start stop is a different feature than cylinder deactivation, but that information is listed on the window sticker.

I was looking at the Chevy build configurator to see what it says about cylinder deactivation in the 2.7T. Since I was unaware that those have or will have cylinder deactivation.

I looked at both the 2.7 and 5.3, it said cylinder deactivation is not available. Presuming that it is a normal component on both engines, but with out seeing the sticker of the final build I wouldn't be sure.

Not sure if it's a consideration where OP lives but GMs are also coming without heated seats and heated steering wheels right now.
