Nah...I'd rather have the dit motor over the over aged ej platform.

Seems like a decision made in poor taste to me. My understanding is that WRX beds are only designed to carry oversized bongs, garage band equipment, and the occasional load of hemp clothing you're carting back after your day of shopping at the local co-op. It's not always best to fit in with the crowd, my friend. Sounds to me like you need to give yourself some free reign and start going after a group that's a bit more sophisticated than these so called "Dog-mom's." Hell, if you really are after a dog mom, here's how it's done:

    (1) Begin by courting a real woman
    (2) Buy her a dog.

There you go...now she's officially a dog mom!

Trust me man, all those nights spent watching 2 broke girls until 4 in the morning, holding back vomit while she asks you if she should *in my best girly voice impression* "paint [her] nails with the pink or the purple" just simply aren't worth it.

I think the sarcasm went over people's heads. I'm become disillusioned by the quality of my 3rd gen. It's a 2018 with 1050 for miles.

The front bumper facia won't stay clipped in. I'm not changing the bumper as a the solution and in my searching there is no solution

The front diff makes a random Chewbacca sound up to 40 MPH

    The hood braces are de-bonding

The passenger side door weather strip is made too short or is installed incorrectly

I still have a recall for the TSS and the fix is basically a bandaid

I have a cold idle surge

My VIN falls under the 3rd brake light campaign and the timing chain cover TSB. The timing chain thing is a ticking time bomb that hopefully happens under warranty

It's really a case of how well it this truck going to hold up if I press it into daily service.

I actually moved from WRX to Tacoma. Gas mileage it’s not really that different. My major reason for moving was it’s not a reliable car. If you actually look at the reliability ratings subaru is not very good at all. Electrical system is a not very good. The turbo in and of it’s self is not reliable long-term. I always seem to be working on something on that car between turbo lines, electrical, blown valve cover gasket, leaking oil. In comparison I’ve done essentially nothing other than maintenance with my hundred thousand mile tacoma.

Sorry just read your last post, sounds like my 2011 I bought with 90 K miles on it is more reliable than your third GEN

So the timing chain issue concerns you, but buying a car meant to be driven like it’s stolen doesn’t set off any alarms for you?

If you're concerned about fuel economy, why not just get a Prius. Still a Toyota product and more reliable than a Subaru.

I wasted an entire year of my misspent youth trying to land a gal who hated trucks, told me to consider the feelings of the fish I caught, and wouldn't let me past 2nd. But damn she was hot.

Eventually was pursuaded to forget her by a skanky bi- curious blonde.

Toyota and Subaru will be working together on an EV. I like Subaru's AWD system, but I don't see this as a step in the right direction for Toyota where reliability and quality are a concern. Were talking EV's here, so I don't think reliability is real issue, as I don't think full electrics will be all that reliable, and build quality isn't coming back as a trend.

I had an 2016 STi Limited and loved driving the car. Sure, it wasn’t the FA20 DIT and had the dates EJ (gotta watch those ring lands if you’d do anything to increase its performance). Buddy had the WRX and at 30k he had to take it in to have the intake valves and I take cleaned (inherent problem with direct injection). He ended up trading it in for an STi.

So, with their AWD (actually all AWD AFIK) if you replace a tire you have to have it shaved down to match the diameter of the other tires or you have to buy a set of 4 all new tires. The AWD systems do not do well with one tire even diameter mismatch of even 1/8”.

This post proves you should be driving something else besides a truck. Actually, public transportation seems to fit you better. Good luck.

Had a Wrx for ten years. Fun car, flimsy body work that dents if you look at it the wrong way. Mileage, especially with higher octane isn’t going to net you much over a Tacoma. I know Wrx resale used to be good, but think it’s slipping and still nowhere near Tacoma. Fiscally, if you’re debating a trade to a Wrx, keeping the Tacoma is more prudent.

Cheap inside and AWD is not needed in most areas. I'll always opt for non AWD if at all possible.
