Should I trade my Tacoma in for a new WRX

This is such a biased thread lol. I had a brand new wrx back in '11. If i didn't need my truck for work id buy that car again in a heartbeat. A million times more fun than the tacoma.

Screw them! It's your truck. Your decision. Don't let others influence your choices. But because you asked, in my opinion the Tacoma seems better in the long run. With a utilitarian vehicle with very good reliability that it comfortable to drive on the road, you cannot go wrong using the Tacoma as a daily driver.

Mine has been rock solid I've driven from Ga to San Diego and back camping and visiting friends and family (grew up in HB ) . Michigan then back to GA . And plenty of trips to Florida to deep sea fish . Even shipped it to a deserted island to beach camp . 85k miles and cant find a fault . It is kind of slow but I'm used to it . This is my 3rd Toyota truck. There not exactly fast.

Get both. Trucks will be too expensive in the future to buy another lol. You can also drive off in the truck next time she tries to pull your man card .

Traded a 2019 STI in for my new Tacoma. The novelty of it wore off after a few months. It was a fun car, but mpg’s were avg of 17 city. Premium gas. More insurance cost. Every douche wants to race, especially people in super crappy cars that couldn’t hang anyway. It got annoying, quickly.

Winner. I think @Itchyfeet has finally snapped from going cold turkey from the sugary stuff. He dropped too much weight too fast and his decision making skills are kaput. He obviously should sell his pos Tacoma and buy a Prius. Someone had to use this tired, stupid TW expression. I hate you all for making me do it.

Lots of people who have had WRX's seem to get Tacomas for some reason I've noticed.

I've been considering trading mine for the same, or maybe an older used WRX hatch.

The Tacoma isn't much of a truck with a little 5 foot bed anyway, and a stock Subaru will go about anywhere you would take a stock $40k truck in the first place (I've had two 'roos) I have an '85 SR5 4Runner for anything rougher than that anyway, and a trailer that will haul more shit than the Tacoma bed.

My biggest beef with the Taco is the complete lack of any useable power and the terrible fueling/throttle. Seriously, this thing misses and bucks in 2nd gear like it's got a 40 year old set of plug wires and it's got 9k miles. Mine is a manual so the majority of people with the autos probably don't care. It's a chore to drive and really bums me out every time I get in it knowing what I'm paying for it, and it will never be any better.

The WRX may be just as bad, but judging by the other newer drive by wire Subarus I've been in I doubt it. And if so, at least the aftermarket is bigger for tunes and whatnot. We aren't just stuck with one option to save us.

I can throw my bikes and my boats on the WRX as well as I can the Taco. And it won't be like driving a golf cart when I'm just commuting. I'm a mechanic, if it shits a turbo I'll put another one on it.

Always been a Toyota fan, but the new Taco with a manual sucks with this engine and this tune.
