IF you INSIST on owning one of the two I would choose the Ranger....

    Reasons:
    1.Parts a far less expensive
    2. Readily available
    3. More mechanics to choose from (since you don;t seem to want to mess with that)

I don't wrench and expect either will need parts and maintenance from time to time Based on the points I made, I would choose the Ranger...hands down.

Good luck I say find a smaller Wrangler or other smaller OR toyand go nuts.,,

IF you where to trade do the ranger!

but keep your truck rather than picking up more of a money pit

I would not even consider trading your truck for the 1st gen taco. The ranger on the other hand looks nice! But still, as many others stated, it would be best to keep your truck. Your truck looks nice and holds a much higher value.

I dunno if I could trade a truck I owned. Not only that, but miss all the fun of upgrading. Although you will probably save some cash.

In my days of trying to find straight-across vehicle trades I've learned one thing. If the guy you're putting your rig out there for is willing to trade without any cash on top or anything, he's probably getting the better end of the deal. Keep your truck that you know the history of. The thought of purchasing a truck that I've seen video of it being jumped makes me nervous for you.

well i like tacomas better because they are more reliable. but the ranger is linked, has bypasses most likely bumped and straped. light rack. we need more details about the trucks to pick one. vote holding off for now

why ru still thinking about this? save up ur money alittle and build urself one, just have a place in town put on everything for you. Then when ppl say, where did u get that truck? u can say "i built it myself".

If you do do it, then go for the built Tacoma, iirc that was built exclusivley by that fab shop.
