I'm going to guess it's like asking a gambler how they did....they never tell you they lost their ass. You will always be upside down trading in every 2 years.

Usually. But it depends on a lot of factors. Mileage for one, condition of veh, and demand of said veh. There aren't many H3T's out there so I'm betting he's getting a good trade in price since his H3T is newer, possibly low mileage and won't cost the dealer much to get ready for sale. Sadly Hummer's don't sit on the lot for very long. (I work in the used car dept. at a local dealer).

How many people did you think would suggest anything but "Trade for the TACO" on TACOMAworld.com? I'll add my name to the list of people saying you should do it.

Lower payment, lower insurance, yadda yadda yadda... You won't look like a douche driving around town anymore.

Hummer is so 90's...Dump it and get the Tacoma. The "Hummer statement" is dead.

In the area I live in, they do will not even take Hummer's on trade anymore (H2's anyway). I have 2 family members in the car business (1 works at a Mercedes dealership and the other at a Land Rover dealership). They both said, they don't even consider them for a trade-in because they can not sell them.

To the OP... I would get rid of that thing while you still have a chance...

I am getting an excellent trade in my opinion: $26,000 trade for H3T (I paid less new with no money out of my pocket due to the mega rebates they offered at the time I purchased it as well as the fact that they gave me more on trade for my Taco than what I bought it for originally) and $300 under invoice for the Taco. My H3T does have low mileage (5400 original miles).

    No, I wouldn't trade a nice 4WD for any 2WD.

Drive what you've got for a few years and get it paid off before you dig yourself into a deeper hole, the only thing better than a shiny new vehicle is a paid-for vehicle.

That's pretty funny! Actually I've been real lucky not to lose my ass. I originally bought a Ridgeline for $22,000 new out the door. They had a huge rebate with a shitload of them on the lot at the time so I was lucky. I turned around a little over a year later and traded it in on a new Taco. They gave me more money for trade in value than what I bought it for a year earlier plus they sold me the Taco for $2000 under invoice (at the time there was a $1500 rebate on the Taco and with USAA pricing it ended up being $2000 under invoice). So I managed never to be upside down trading and once again if I do trade for the new Taco I won't be upside down. Sooner or later though it may catch up with me.

Don't do it yet!!! It will be some significant Changes for the 2012 models that will arrive in August.
If you change it now, you will be sorry!
    In any case, good luck!

I didn't use the 4x4 on my H3T enuff to justify buying a Taco 4x4 so if I do this, it'll either be the Prerunner Sport or Prerunner Off-Road Package.

If they do change the Taco I think they will go the route of the 4 runner. Shoe boxy. Hard lines and box like appearance. In that case keep your Hummer. Every Tacoma change has been for the worse as far as I am concerned from the early 90's forward.

    keep your truck...

other than getting some ignorant tree huggers off your back. You get nothing and lose your interesting conversation piece.. Which is all around more capable anyway.. if not a tad harder to park. MAYBE a bit thirsty by comparison.

If it weren't for hawaii.. I'd trade ya.
