you could even try carmax if they have one by you. They will buy your truck and usually give u a descent price for it

If your current truck is close to being paid off, keep it!. Life without a car payment is great and with that few miles on your truck, you should be good for years to come. Unless you really NEED the 4X4, save your money. Just think of all the mods you could do with even just a part of the $$ you pay for a car payment each month.

x2..Depends if you can tolerate the payments. It will get old after awhile. I would sell yours privately and probably go for a used 4x4 with all the mods you want and save bunch of $$. I sometimes see good deals here on TW from members trying to sell their trucks. Good luck.

I wouldn't get a 2010... too many NUMMI workers are pissy... wait for the 2011s, find a 2010 with a VIN that starts with a "3" or find a gently used 4x4.

Always better to see your truck privately. When I went to get my 2010 4x4 taco, dealer offer $13500 for my trade. Sold it in one week for $20000.

I used to live in far west Texas and we'd go on mini-expeditions in national forests and BLM lands in New Mexico. I could go entire weekends without ever 'needing' 4x4, just using the clearance and picking the line carefully. When you're a single vehicle you should never challenge yourself intentionally.

But then there were times: heavy rains upcountry send flash floods down the dry arroyo, and washing out the trail (what there was of one) I just hours before went up . THAT is when 4x4 is a life saver, to pick my way back out.

Point is: just 'cause you rarely use it doesn't mean you don't need it.

    TRDsport,
Wise choice. You can always buy the new truck later if you really need 4x4.
Getting car payment free is a good thing.

I'm still looking at 4x4's because i like the thought of having 4x4. I actually found one that seem like a good deal. I really don't want to lengthen my car payments but i want a 4x4. I wish i would gotten it the first time around. I currently owe about $9,000 and making 1000 dollar payments. Its gonna be really nice to have a paid off truck w/ low miles. Its at 35k right now. I guess i'm just really worried about this winter. Has anyone gone by with a prerunner trd sport? Also have an is250 AWD. I can always get around in that but its a car. I think winter this year in Washington is going to be bad. Last year we had no snow whats so ever. So you PreRunner owner out there let me know how you've gone about driving in snow.

Millions of people get around in the snow with a 2WD car. Get a set of snow tires and/or chains and put them on for the winter and see how you do. If you don't like how that works, take the 1000/month that you are paying on your truck when you finish paying it off and put it in a savings account for 6 - 8 months. Sell your truck outright (don't trade it), take the money you have and look for a low mileage used 4X4 Taco and pay cash for it. You'll probably still have $$ left over. Car payments =!
