I understand it is personal, in term of finance, but my 172K 2007 still kicking great for my driving need, not a single problem since I bought. Never work on cars/trucks to any extent, I wonder whether I should I put a grand or 2 and get it in better shape or just resale for about 10K+ and get a 2021 Sport? I don't resell unless 10+ years or so.

I also have Weathertech floormat and Toyota short bed mat from 2007, will that translate to 2021 model. I am going to do research also.

If you do, go with a 4wd this time.
The 07 model was a great year. Minimal problems all together with the far less technology than it's new models.
The 2021 is far more of a computer than it is a truck.

I think the bed mat fits all short bed models from 2005-current.

This all depends on where you are at in life. Which is probably beyond the scope of this thread! I'm 57 years young so I'd probably keep it if you're 27 or so that's a different story! Etc!!!

What do you base your advice on getting a 4WD on? He is happy with his 07 Prerunner with 170K miles. Sounds like he doesn’t need 4WD and it will be a waste.

OP do it, and only the bed mat will transfer over.

Just my opinion, but you are right. If he don't need it or want it then stick with 07 and put the 500 dollar car payment into something more lucrative for 5 to 6 years.

Many gas vehicles are now so clean their emissions are cleaner than the air in most major cities.

Good luck. My buddy bought an ecoboost f150 for a while, it spent way too much time in the shop for a brand new vehicle.

Whara pulling you toward ford anyway?

Multiple family member have them with no issues. Bigger, faster, same mpg, same price with incentives at this time. Will go back to tacoma if next gen is better than 3rd. My 1st gen was bulletproof even with my supercharger. I might find low mile 1st gen.

Nice, but no reason to take it personal. My 3rd gen let me down and that is not acceptable to me. I will give next gen a chance and see if the old toyota quality comes back. I hope you have a good one as I love Tacomas.

OP, can you keep the old truck and get a new 3rd gen? Near zero risk with that, if you don’t like it you can sell for near the same price due to crazy demand and low inventory.

It's all good. I was behind a Raptor today and thought long and hard about how much Carvana would give me for my truck.
