Keep your old one for off roading . And buy a new one for a daily driver .

I was waiting for the “hell no”, and “shit ya” suggestions in the same post. TW let me down for the very first time. :annoyed:

I almost can budget wise, but I have to deal with moving for street sweeping and that could get old I guess. I could use it for local fishing trip too.

Personally i’d never buy a turd gen if i owned a good, working ‘07.

Too big, too many computers, and kind of ugly with that long front end.

I wanted an old taco but couldnt find one in time so i ended up with a new tacoma (2019).

Personally i’d keep the old truck

I hear you. I sold my ‘13 Prius with 40k miles in perfect condition to my sis after buying my truck because I’m super tight on parking. I think I’d rather have your truck than 10k in cash but if you can’t easily park it then that changes things.

I’d at least try to wait until a few months after your purchase before selling. Even better if you have a relative or good friend who wants a truck like that. Sounds perfect for a teenager.

I definitely would not trade it in to the dealer.

Naw man. Keep it lift it and get some killer wheels.

Or just keep the 07 and get a 2021. You’re gonna miss the 07 too much if you sell it IMO.

Hold on to your 07, I have a 2020 with 2000 miles on it and it's already been back to the dealer more than any other vehicle I've ever owned.

How many times has it been back to the dealer? Were all times for the same issue or different issues?

2121? Damn, I didn't know you're a time traveler! Can you fit 35s without a lift in the year 2121? Do they come with the CMC mod from the factory? Did they add a diesel or v8 option?

Haha. He's probably the same person complaining about how he should've bought a full size to tow heavy, v8 fanboy, and doesn't like a vehicle with high resale value

Those ford motors are good until you exhaust their powertrain warrany, then they take a s*** on you. Once toyotas reach 60,000 miles, they're just barely broken in and ready for another 250,000 :)

I wish you luck and hope you enjoy your ford for about 30,000-60,000 miles, if it lasts that long.

I saw a guy on here complaining that the door latches on his cabin were "scratching" his doors whenever they shut. The latch and receiver just weren't aligning perfectlly. The damn latch receiver is held on by 2 bolts... Instead of loosening the bolts and maneuvering the latch, he kept going to the dealership and blaming them for the issue

I believe this is the same guy. Nothing wrong with his truck, he's just slightly inconvenienced and butt-hurt.

I gave my beloved 2005 to my son, and got a 2019. The 2019 is a completely different truck, the comment above about driving a computer is accurate.

By keeping your 2007 you might be missing out on newer features like dual zone climate control, touchscreens, safety features, and better gas mileage. But you are also missing out on a transmission that’s in a rush to get to sixth gear, nonlinear throttle pedal, road noise from the back wall, a much heavier truck, and seats that are less comfortable.

i’m glad I got the 2019 because I was ready for a change and the safety features have helped me more than once already. But in my opinion it’s not a better truck, it’s just different, and the engineering is not as seamless. Pre-Covid I traveled a lot and had a lot of rental vehicles all over the country. I think the second generation Tacoma is one of the best engineered vehicles ever.
