    Hey everyone,

I have an 06 4 wheel drive Tacoma, recently bought a camper shell and added a little bed buildout in the back of the truck. I routinely carry around camping and outdoorsy gear and find myself on lots of dirt and rocky roads. I’m a geologist and go down to the middle of nowhere Baja for fieldwork for weeks at a time…

I’m thinking about upgrading my suspension as I’ve heard that the stock parts aren’t super great in the long run. Any thoughts? Any suggestions?

    Thanks everyone,

    Sam

AaL or custom leaf packs. You are going to change your shocks anyways so get some billstein 5160 outback and 6112 on the front.

If you keep any weight at all in the bed new leafs are a must, or at least load levelers.

-Bilstein 6112 front shock. Leveling lift -Bilstein 5100 rear shock w/TSB leaf pack. -Cooper Rugged Trek 265/70/17 -EBC front ultimax rotors w/yellow pads -Stoptech sport rear drums -Steel braided brake lines -Wet Okele seat covers front/rear with heaters -Custom built exhaust with Black Widow venom 250 muffler -Afe Stage 2 Dry CAI -Diode dynamics SS3 fog lights yellow. -OPT7 Projector Headlight Assembly w/Black backing -Undercover Flex Tonneau cover -Weather Tech floormats front and back
I swapped out my rear shocks for 5100s when I had and oem one start to fail 2 years ago. This year I rebuilt my front suspension at 135k miles. I installed 6112 shock with 600# springs. OEM LCA, inner/outer tie rods, cam adjuster/bolts, and all new bolt/nuts hardware throughout. I spread out the rear and front over time and it was totally worth doing it. I am really glad that I did the whole front end at once instead of having things "not work right" until I install the next part.
