Should I use a paint touch up marker on this?

Hey guys, so I have two issues I'd like to fix with my truck. The first is the door that I accidentally bent against a fence whilst driving backwards too close to a wooden fence. The second are the two deep marks/scratches from what I think was ratchet straps hitting the side of my truck. Will a simple touch up marker from my local auto parts store be enough for the scratches and will taking a rubber mallet and putting a piece of 2x4 behind the dent be enough to get the job done?

    What choice do you have?
    You got nothing to lose...
Cant look any worse by trying.

    Pro-tip:
You dont paint on touch up paint.
Take majority of the liquid paint off the brush by wiping the brush on side of container opening..

Then just lightly / finely dab the tip of the brush into the scratch.
try not to overlap onto the good paint as while its drying it will spread.

Important to do it in stages & not trying to go crazy from the get go if its a large scratch.
    As it dries it shrinks.

Its better to go back & fill some more if needed than to just over-do it from the get go...

Also ide hit the area with a cleaner wax or light rubbing compound of some sort first...
Some of the scuffs will come off so less paint..
Dont paint over the scuffs, just leave it....

After the wax, clean the chipped area with alcohol to remove the wax so the paint will stick.

That's what touch up paint is for.
Buy a color match from dealer or get dr color chip or any other brand from hardware store or auto supply store.

An old timer auto body guy taught me this a long time ago: when touching up paint chips, use a cardboard matchstick cut at a 45ish degree angle. Just put on a slight amount of paint on the matchstick and apply to cover the chip. You can also look up a YT video called Kevin Tetz chip repair.
