I'm not a Toyota Tacoma owner yet but I do have one in mind and it's a 2014.
I also found one that was a 2007.

My auto mechanic has recommended Tacomas and said they're popular.
On the other hand, I was also informed that with most older vehicles that the parts are being discontinued because the pandemic caused the parts manufacturers to close permanently.

I do not have enough money to buy a brand new car.
I also resent some of the features on new cars that are now standard equipment.
It's off the subject but I also wish they would find some way to convert old cars to electricity and still keep the gas tanks.

I have been under the impression that a basic car without added features is now impossible to find and that people trying to save money are out of luck this way.

With the price they're asking and with the anxiety I have about buying a vehicle, I was wondering if I should worry about having maintenance problems later on where I can't find the parts I need.

The discontinued parts might make this purchase a waste of money and leave me in a pickle someday.

I keep my cars for a long time one of my cars is now going on 15 years old.
If I buy this one, I hope to still have it on the road in a decade.

Given the popularity and sales of them you'll always be able to get parts be it aftermarket or OEM, or from a junkyard.

It would be less beneficial to buy a less popular car.

I don't know what your "Mechanic" is talking about manufacturers going out of business permanently.

Sounds more like someone manipulating or dictating what you should do.

A Tacoma is an extremely reliable vehicle.

My 2010 has 265k miles I have never had difficulty finding or getting a part.

The support for these rigs is huge.

Welcome to TW…If you can afford it, buy the 2014 and you won’t have any regrets providing the truck he’s been maintained properly.

You've got at least 20+ years before you have to worry about 2gen parts not being available.

Second on the 2014, but even if you buy the 2007 most of the parts are identical, and there’s going to be plenty of part availability for either for years to come.

The spare parts cartel is probably a business bigger than vehicle sales.

Thanks for the suggestion but I think they're just talking about certain parts manufacturers. I'm on my way to ask them one more time before I go to look at this truck.

Make sure you thoroughly check the frame for rust on either Tacoma.
