I was on my way to San Diego this weekend and during my trip I had two 3rd gen Tacoma’s (fully decked out) flash their headlights at me in a form of acknowledgment/head nod. I’ve had my 3rd gen all of 2 months and it’s a simple white off-road model on 33’s lifted 2 inches and a camper shell. Never got a wave on my 1st gen or 2nd gen. Is this a 3rd gen thing? Should we keep this going like the infamous “Jeep wave”?

It all depends who is driving, it seems. I've gotten a wave or two from other guys my age. Never from older folks though. But, you do you! I typically wave whenever I see anyone else wave.

Not sure? I know it's a thing between motorcycle riders. When I'm out riding my Harley.

I'm game for blowing kisses to other TW members I see on the freeways of Socal, just know it's purely platonic (unless...)

I sold a Jeep to buy my Tacoma, I was a little shocked to learn how happy I was that the wave went with the Jeep.

I wave and get waved at by almost every Inferno Taco or 4R I see. I do tend to wave at any other Tacos when outside the metro Detroit area (gotta be careful who you wave to around here these days).

I get a wave from other cruisers when I take my 65 Galaxie out. Its sort of a barely there wave to acknowledge they see your car. My 17 Tacoma is laid out but I think they just stare trying to figure out what I am really driving. Its a base SR with Limited and SR5 trim. Toyota wasnt building what I wanted so I built my own.

Always wave to any Taco with obvious modifications. They 99% of the time wave back and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

I would not acknowledge you in public otherwise, so why would I want to wave to you just because we shop at the same car store?
