I want to mount my shovel and axe to the inside of my bedsides. Curious if anyone has done this, I don’t have the factory liner, and my bed is line x’d. Should I just buy some quick fists and run some self tappers thru?

I would think that self tappers would eventually vibrate their way out of the sheet metal of the bed. Lots of guys put a 2nd/3rd gen style rail in, this distributes the weight better. Most seem to use unistrut or rail sections for a 2nd/3rd gen. There are also some aftermarket tie down rails that work well. I'm thinking about using a single side 80/20 profile on mine. Best to bolt through to the back side, even better to use a backing plate to bolt through. A full length rail will distribute the forces better and allow for more mounting options.
