Like your set up. Noticed you have the maxtrax mounting pins. What did you use to fasten it to the bed rail? Anything I can pick up at a local hardware store?

Do you think I could use any bed rail clear with washer and then add mounting pins or is the clear specific to pin somehow?

I would imagine others make the same cleats. You would just need to check the thread size / pitch.

If you look closely you'll see that there's also these things holding it up. I don't know how well just straps would work. I've been looking into this location as well.

The pins you see are part of a cradle that carries weight. Look to the bottom and you’ll also see the rubber panel between them and the tire itself. It compresses a bit so that when the strap hooks go into the handles there is no vibration to worry about allowing them to loosen.

I said it before, I was skeptical about the system at first. Now I have no worries about it and everything holds perfectly with no stretching or slipping. No hesitations recommending their spare tire carrier system to anyone.

I just need to find some tell-tale leashes to stuff in the included small - hidden behind the mats - pouch for them as I won my mats in a raffle and the leashes weren’t included for some reason.

I see their system being used a lot in austrailia where these are more popular, and love the look. Where did you buy it from?

Found the part number on their website and punched it into the web browser and just clicked “buy now” on the cheapest with free shipping. Can’t recall who it was.

I saw that, but it was something like $180 for those hooks. I already bought and installed the ROK straps that I said I was going to buy. Just havent taken any pics.

I went to a craft store and bought a roll of neon green nylon 1” webbing for about $10 bucks. I made six leashes about 5’ long out of it.
