Does this count back in October at a friends place? We have about 12-16” more now! I live about 1.5 hours north of him. Haha

That sucks not having access to your personal truck. Especially being left at work! Would have been nice to play in the snow if you could find some quiet area near you.

Being on vacation it was great snow wheeling near home last night when there was no one around. Just municipal snow plows struggling to keep main thoroughfares clear. Very hilly side streets and vacant parking lots were fun. I came across about 6 city cop cars parked together in one spot at a public park. Looked like they were doing paper work riding the storm out. Was out from 12:30am to 3:00am. Full tank of gas but with no weight in the back of the box hampered my success with one very steep hill on my second attempt. Second attempt the snow had piled up that much more in a short period of time. Otherwise the one year old Toyo AT3's performed very well. It was also nice to really push the truck in deep snow since purchasing this truck and feeling the differences in the few default traction settings available. Never had these settings in my 2 prior vehicles.

So yeah, good call by your employer to let you stay home today. No fun on the roads once the morning commute starts and people start heading to work tho. As you know, too many tards in the Lowermainland without snow driving skills and proper winter tires. Last thing we want is to have some incompetent knob smoke our trucks.

Nice! That was a good time to ride around empty streets. Yeah, even with about 300 pounds of extra weight in the back of my truck, there is like zero traction in 2WD, running wildpeaks.

My 2 week vacation starts this Saturday, can’t wait! Wish it started this Monday haha. Working in this weather is not great at all as we have to drive to peoples homes on small
side streets. Work van is chev express 2500, running toyo at3, good tire for snow but RWD doesn’t help.

I went for a walk with my dog in the morning and it was interesting on the roads to say the least. People spinning out at slightest inclines haha.

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
I have 600 pounds in the back of my Taco, and brand new Nokian LTR snows. On the drive home today, I am spinning all 4 tires and in 4WD.

That was on the flats, and feathering the gas as soft as I can. If it were a steep hill, I would not have even made it even equipped as I am.

It snowed 10 inches today, and at -17c the plows could not clear the roads and only succeeded in crushing it down to a smooth 3-4 inches that froze solid. Every single road in all of Kelowna the same this afternoon, and tomorrow will be worse. Not good, the kind of ice that defeats all vehicles when a hill is concerned. At 5kmh, you need 2 car lengths to skid to a stop. Yikes.

As a kid in Coquitlam back in the 1960s, we would ice skate on Como Lake avenue when that happened. Full on games in the middle of the street, and today could have been the same if not for so much traffic.

The truck handled great in the morning when it was just deep snow on the roads, but that ice is the great equalizer.

That is cold. On the positive side, looks like your Friday will be practically t-shirt weather. :)

Its cold here right now, but not too bad. Gotta finish my breakfast and get out and feed the songbirds and quail in the backyard. They are starving for food, snow too deep to foriage.

We plan on heading up to Tahoe for the holidays. (We spent ALL winter up there last year) - I can tell you that although your pictures are very nice, I am nevertheless not very eager to head-up to the cold white stuff at the moment...

I don't want to shovel any of it, and now I am even seeing that there may be some rain in the forecast...

I am feeling like I'd much rather stay put, actually have time to relax and be able to ride the MTB in the dry comfy weather down here...

I am writing this here because I have not quite worked-up the courage to say it out loud... :notsure:
