Took the wife’s Subaru up north for the weekend and came home to this cute little dusting:


we’re about 12-14” shy of where we typically are this time of year (that’s what she said) but I promise I’ll post some serious snow at some point this winter.

Love all of the snow photos. We moved to Florida a few years ago to escape the cold winters of the Northeast. No plans to move back, but I have to admit I miss driving the Tacoma in the snow. Guess, I have to be satisfied with beach driving. Haha.

 

Should have been careful of what I said in my last post…We ended up getting a foot of snow total 3 days later with more in the forecast

We'd be buried if all of the rain we got in Jan. had been snow. As it is, this is all we have and it will probably be gone by next weekend with the forecast we have.

 

Went and did a little snow wheeling today, near Ellensburg, WA.

 

We hardly ever have any serious snow. I am curious how folks in Canada and up North drive their Tacos in snow.
Do you turn of the traction control (the one that looks like a car fish tailing) and drive in 4hi?

 

I leave traction control on if I'm in motion and cycle into 4 hi if I'm passing or on packed ice. Having a 250lb canopy, good tires and only dealing with 159 HP means the rear end stays pretty planted. I turn off traction control if I need to spin the wheels. For the life of me, I do wish Toyota had spent the $4 and put a block heater in these trucks.

 

Good tires, extra weight, don't over drive road conditions.
