Another backspacing question: What are you guys finding is the ideal backspacing for 285/75r16 with ~3" lift front and rear? Trying to keep trimming to a minimum, but want to avoid frame and UCA rub on the trails.

Currently running 31/10.5 on stock 15x7 with Bilstein 5100s, OME coils up front and Dakars in the rear. Looking to move up to 285/75 duratracs on 16x8

Disclaimer: I've read all the forums and I've heard anything from 3.5-4.5

Your new tires would be 32.8/11.20-16. So basically 1” taller and wider.

    Thanks..
I'm aware of the tire size. I'm looking for guidance on backspacing. I'm familiar with how it all works, just need to figure out what will work best. I want to stay away from spacers so I plan on buying wheels with the proper BS. 3.75BS wheels are hard to find in 16x8 so in reality I'm between 4.0 and 3.5... Will 4.0 be too narrow (rub frame, UCA?) Will 3.5 be too wide (require serious fender trimming?) Is 3.75 the ideal BS?

No trimming at all? No rubbing even in full lock? Good to know. Thank you

What size tire are you running? How close is it to the upper control arms?

255/80r17 and they’re a little less than a inch from the UCA. I’ve got Total Chaos UCAs. The coopers run a little smaller than other tires of the same size though

It may close and possibly require a spacer
