I have been debating what to do with my 1st gen, and just can't lean one way or the other on deciding what else to ad to my truck exhaust.

Right now I have a flow master 40 series and it sounds pretty good, I am just trying to get a little more roar out of my truck.

Show me what you have and show me what I should do!:D

Man Louder than a 40 series? The only I can think of that are maybe louder would be a Whicked flow, or aero turbine. Also If you get a bigger pipe it makes it echo a little more in my experience.

Yeah I might have miscommunicated, I meant to ask what else I can do to my system, I plan to keep the 40 series.

I was referring to pulling my CATS, getting headers, Intake?

pulling the cats made my 93 toyota sound much better with the 40 series, and ya headers will make it sound deeper also.

No, I was never checked and my dads a cop and he said they don't ever check for cats only the state patrol does sometimes. A muffler shop will not do it, so what I did is I chopped it at my house and drove it there and they did the rest, they won't make you get cats but they can't cut them off themselves.

How did you like the sound? Did it get ricey at all? or just give it more of a roar? Performance gain? anything?

    thanks for the answers!

I liked the sound, it was really deep and really rumbly. It only got ricey at 3,000 rpm and higher but before that it sounded awesome. I actually just puched the honey comb out of the cat itself I think this game it more room to echo beore it got sent out of the new bigger exaust pipe. and I had the shop just weld a 2 1/2'' pipe to it. I had countless Toyota guys come up to me and tell me how it was the best sounding 4 cylinder they had heard. I didn't notice much performance other than a slight gain in gas mileage. Im talking less than 1 mpg, but it was the 22re 4 banger. The 3.4 v6 that we have might be a bit more impressive.

    Hope this helps!
