I've been using a Marmot Tungsten 1P for a few years, it's been a solid tent and has been through several 60 mph thunderstorms. A few of the aluminum poles cracked and Marmot replaced them for free. I just got a Slingfin Portal and set it up in the yard to attach some guy lines.

Two thumbs up for off-roading the E-30. I've owned two of them, and think they were BMW's pinnacle of durability. Kicking myself for selling either one of them.

I’m pretty sure it rotted out in a yard after I sold it too.

    Here is my set up.

I have a Napier Sportz tent if we are staying at one place for the majority of our time. We still sleep in the truck on our platform. Which gives us a nice dry living room for playing cards or room for cots for the grandkids.

The screen room is converted into a private bathroom. Hot water shower and flushing chemical toilet

Sleeping platform stores all our gear in front compartment and has a stove and cooking supplies in the drawers. Space on left now set up to hold a Traeger Scout pellet grill. It is on 32” heavy duty slides.

If we aren’t staying in one place then our set up looks like this. Shower/potty shelter, tarp, and easy up.

Got the bed tent for $40 because it had a water treatment defect, sprayed the inside with sealant and called it a day. Love it. Got a portable tent AC off Alibaba and a blow up mattress, home away from home.

Guys, try 6-foot heavy duty bungee cords instead of guy ropes. Never have to adjust. Always tensioned. Gives for the wind. Easy to see.

Get the 72" and some of the 24". Combine the two, you can double one, or both, and achieve any length of guy you need.

Now that you mention it I have some made from bicycle tubes. You can get them free from bike shops if you ask nicely and then tie a hook on each end. I use them to secure cargo that I put on my rear seat deck but they might be strong enough to suspend a tarp...

I've been imagining an extension to my softopper for a while since sleeping in a 5' bed is terrible. Today was for R&D, and I think may be on to something. I built a small frame out of PVC, draped my ultralight tarp I used to backpack with over my bed bars, and attached with bungies. Will do double work as an awning with a couple telescoping poles I have on order. I will update once I get it dialed in and I reinstall the sleeping platforms.20220519_141420.jpg 20220519_134934.jpg 20220519_134206.jpg

I just ordered the Zoleo Satellite Communication device. It's currently on sale @ REI and Amazon for $150.

I usually tent camp with the dog, but wanted to try out the new extension. Definitely tight back there with the 2 of us. No doubt more comfortable in the ground tent.

My trash bag is an oooold army surplus from I think Denmark? For my gear I use a giant Kuiu duffel (the giant bag on the bottom of the image). Almost everything goes in there.

Ah. It's the Coleman Whitewater big and tall. I like the extra space. I also have a Kelty 0° mummy bag but it is so uncomfortable i'd rather freeze.
