Super basic and I like it like that.
    • ARE MX mid-rise shell
    • Roll-a-cot sets up and tears down in minutes
    • I throw a little beach chair in to sit on if it rains but I've never had to use it

Any chance I could get you to measure the top edge of your topper tent? The Velcro on my rear window panel of the Softopper is 43” and the TopperTent is 53”. I’m guessing I was sent the wrong one. She replied to my initial email by saying the TopperTent fits a little loose, but 10” is a lot! They also shipped two identical zippers instead of mirror image ones. So frustrating since we have a camping trip coming up soon.

I recently bought a TopperTent, but they sent one wrong zipper and I’m positive they sent a full sized tent instead of mid sized. I’m still waiting for a response. I’m frustrated.

Sides are like a mini awning . If I roll it up as designed, sunlight gets in and it gets uncomfortably hot . So far it’s perfect.

Nice side mods, but how do you keep the bugs out?

Not about your camping setup but with your midrise camper how much of a pain to have two different heights on top? Carrying stuff wise

I only have the Prinsu on the front so no rack to carry anything on the back. So no issue. I did get the tracks on the topper preinstalled in case I did want to put a rack up there. The mid-rise top though is tall and as I learn more about having a load on top and changing the center of gravity offroading, I am not certain I will ever add a rack. Also, the mid-rise plus my modest 2" lift put the height at 6'7". There are some older parking garages I have avoided because I'm pushing the height limits. If I added a rack of some sort it for sure prevents me from some garages.

All said and done though I wouldn't change it. Having the 4-5" of extra headroom inside when camping or even just in there dealing with gear is so worth it.

Ya that’s what I figured. The 4-5” would be fantastic. I wish there was a way to even them out with a rack. Putting surfboards on top is the only reason I wouldn’t want to go midrise

Ok got to ask I'm 6 foot are you all comfortable in a 6 foot bed with a camper top? The other issue is I sure I'm a good deal older than the rest of you guys and gals (78 in January)

This is by far the coolest setup I’ve seen in a long time. Great work.

How long are your surf boards? If you just had the deck in the back, couldn’t you for at least a 9’ board on the just the back?

    6’ bed
1.5’ overhang on front and back?

hmm maybe not. Lots of air resistance and stress in the board potentially with the front overhang.

my board is 7’8” and I for it in the bed diagonal with about 6” sticking out one side of the cab. I lock the other side.

Rarely ever stop anywhere though I can see where roof would be more secure.

I’m 6’ tall weigh about 210lbs , and I’m quite comfortable sleeping in the back of mine. On hunting, fishing, camping trips over the last 10+ years I’ve spent hundreds of nights in my shell/truck bed. Two things though, first you need a thick cushy comfortable mattress to sleep on. Second thing is it really makes things much better if your shell has about a 6 inch rise above your cab. The shells that are even with the top of the cab look good but are impractical and uncomfortable if you have to crawl around back there or sleep back there. That extra 6 inches or so makes a huge difference unless you enjoy banging your head or are of small stature. So bottom line you can be quite comfortable sleeping back there what ever your age. (I’m not that much younger than you)

love the couch/bed adjustment. We threw an articulating twin sized hospital style bed frame in our sequoia way back when and you could prop yourself up nice and comfortable too. Nice job.

I'm 68" and I have really enjoyed my topper. And to echo previous comments, the extra height is a game changer.
But I am moving on to the next stage, so I am selling mine.
