    I didn’t end up getting a mattress for that reason, nothing actually ends up fitting without modification in a short bed. I went to a fabric store and they sold high density foam that is used to make sofa cushions etc. which I cut to fit the short bed. Was cheaper than buying a mattress I would have had to modify anyways.

    Just built this softopper camper with 12v heat, water, fans, inverter, and propane burner. The futon slides into a bed. There is storage underneath too.
