I had a leer on my 2013 access cab. Gotta say I didn't like it at all. They're certainly great for some people's needs, but not for me. The cap was fine but it made it a pain in the ass to see out of and you could always feel the extra weight on the back. The truck was more sluggish, felt top-heavy in turns, and the back bounced around a lot on freeway joints. Overall it made the truck a lot less fun to drive. It was also harder to load/unload stuff. The fact that the color match wasn't great was the final straw -- it started bugging the crap out of me. If I were doing it again I'd get a soft-top.

ARE TW on a '16 long bed in Grey located in the SF Bay Area purchased 1 year ago. This one is actually for sale: $1400 originally $2350 with screen window on one side and locking swing up window on the other. I bought a Four Wheel camper so no longer need.

Do a lot of these shells seal to the back of the cab?

ARE I bought used (and Silver), but the deal was good enough that even after having it repainted it was still a STEAL over new. After having a shell on my last 2 Toyota trucks, my first year of no-shell (just a tonneau cover) made me crazy. Between hauling gear and dogs, the shell was a must.

None of them do. The bed will move independently of the cab. If the shell touched the cab, the movement would destroy the shell, or the cab, or both.

That’s my next hobby when I finish getting my Taco built the way I want it. For now just watching Kyle O’Glee vids on YouTube.
