Its a liquid polymer that you apply like wax. The only difference is when you apply the ceramic coating, there is a chemical reaction with oxygen and it creates a very thin layer of ceramic coat. Like a second clearcoat i would say, but not as thick. It lasts for few years and it makes the paint very easy to clean. The water beads like crazy. The stuff i used is called Silver Wax.

If you make any mistakes applying the coating, you have to remove it with polishing compound.

    Great stuff, i highly recommend.

I used this product. Not sure if its available in states though.

It took me about 5 hours. Washed it, clay barred, then wiped down the paint with alcohol. Came out 90% perfect, i did screw up a bit around badges and corners but only i can see it. Im very happy with it, i saved at least 1200$. This was my first time, so next time i will do better.

I have been detailing my own cars ever since i was young kid and all but 1 were all black vehicles. I got pretty good at waxing, paint correction, polishing etc. Also, part of my job is honing and polishing stone surfaces like marble and granite so that helps as well. If you are not really experienced with detailing cars, i wouldnt recommend attempting it yourself.

I was getting ready for a 5 week camping trip and didn’t have time to wash it. Also it was winter so first and only time to car wash. Came out pretty clean though.
