Cmc is not a common mod in this neck of the woods so I’m not sure the shop really knew what they were doing. Looks like they cut in hella deep, and reason to be concerned?

I wasn’t sure, it just seems like 90% don’t actually cut into the circular opening. I guess I just have a headstart on the way to clearing 35’s

I bought a welder from harbor freight for 99 bucks with a coupon After a couple hours of YouTube education here is the result lol.


I still rub at full lock with it stuffed but its not too bad.

 

I can possibly be facing CMC soon cause finally decided to go for 285/70/17s.
So that's what I was thinking. Instead of welding the plates on right away maybe will make sense to drive around for a few days just to see if you cut enough or need more. Maybe even tape up the hole or cover it with some 1/4" material.
I think someone already brought this idea up earlier
