The best deal is just painting the stock chrome cheese grater, which I did this past weekend. Pretty happy with the result.

Yes it's awesome, I'm a sucker for satoshi mods. Mind you it requires extensive "rework" of the original grille a.k.a dremelling so you have to be strong of nerve, luckily as a helicopter mechanic I got resources at the shop to make it easy. So I can do things like this...

For sure did not mean to suggest superiority, for me on that project it was nice having a paint booth for the powder coat, welder, aircraft hardware to replace the shitty supplied nuts and bolts and 3" cutoff grinders, and oscillating cutters for some low clearance cuts

Your correct. For clarification do not need to be a heli mech. to use a dremel

It did come powder coated and no slight against ECGfab it was a good job but with trimming exposed some metal and I wanted to cover that up before finishing, mind you I did that little touch up only because I had a batch of paint already made for other stuff, spray paint would suffice

So does their screen not work without the trimming? Seems odd they wouldn't already know of this issue and send it out with the correct dimensions.

Thanks, that's my house in southern NH. There's bass and nasty little pickerel.

Ahh... yes and no hard to explain but with the design of the grille you literally have to cut that lower quarter portion almost directly to the recessed frame. But they send the grille with a generous I'd say 3/4" overlap around the circumference to play with but under no circumstances could it be installed without those trim cuts. My inference is that they are "allowing" you to make that cut once the rest of the grille is ready for install so they don't make an uneccessary cut depending on the unique fit of your install job. Although they don't specify that cut in the instructions.
